FROM MY EXPERIENCE AT THE UNITED STATES: CENRAL ARTERY / TUNNEL (CA/T) PROJECT
Abstract
The main points of the design and construction of the Central Artery / Tunnel in Boston (Massachusetts, USA) are described in paper. The major features of the construction process and design decisions are marked. Geotechnical and assembly complexities of the construction site due to the erection of the tunnel in terms of the existing building and operating road transport interchanges are named, as well as the solutions for their elimination. Clear up undertaken by engineers design and design solutions. Design and computational solutions undertaken by engineers are highlighted.Keywords: tunnel, overpass, "slurry wall", bentonite, Metro.
