URBAN TRANSPORTATION PLANNING: CURRENT INSTRUMENTS MODELING OF MOTOR TRANSPORT SYSTEMS
Abstract
The existing software products for transport modeling were analyzed in the present article, their areas of application, advantages and limitations were highlighted. The ease of use of the interface of the software designed for the construction transport systems of cities (regions) was characterized. The functional features of the considered software products for users were assessed. The reasons of using models in Ukraine, which used in developed countries were mentioned. The modern requirements of transport models, which should be able to integrate with GIS models and databases to the connecting road network, were characterized. Highlighting that package transport planning VISUM is one of the best from the software, in performing transport modeling of cities and regions.Keywords: transport planning cities, transportation systems, modeling, motor transport
