STRUCTURING THE SOURCE BASIS OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF MODERNIZATION OF THE CITY DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Considerable volume and versatility of the material, concerning the problems of urban-planning in the post-industrial period, requires the development of a certain taxonomy and analysis regarding the balance of the prevailing topics and a list of current areas of urban development. Given the task of this work, an array of source bases can be viewed in four conditional sections. Conservative section - where the source base is considered as an array of data that is limited by the traditional framework of the concept of "urban planning".
Contextual section - fragmentation of urban knowledge and its transformation into separate, relatively isolated, branches that have become objects of scientific research not always related to urban development or architecture.
The synthetic section is a group of works and analytical attempts that try to consider modern urbanism as a logistical combination.
Performance section - sources and materials that are not related to the taxonomy of modernist urbanism and create outlines of a new methodology for interpreting urban planning space on the basis of an informative society.
The interconnection of branch sciences with the theories of formative changes of the second half of the twentieth century (as well as the beginning of the XXI century) can be divided into three principal groups: futuristic - scientific and scientific-journalistic materials that consider transformation as a hypothesis; manifestational- which have an affirmative and promotional character; reflexive - based on a critical analysis of already implemented transformations.
An important part of systematization of the source research base of the study is the social changes that took place at the turn of the XX - XXI centuries, in connection with the growth of services, communicative technologies and various forms of self-organization of small and large population groups.
Economics can no longer be regarded as the sole and exclusive basis on which derivative social and cultural phenomena develop.
In a number of studies that exploit the values of sustainable development, one can come across an idea of the transformation of the role of "the city planner - the designer" in the mission of "the city planner - the communicator".
Strengthening the role of communicatively cohesive civic communities changes the criteria of choice, the idea of value, as well as the ways of their transfer (distribution). Created in this way, the socio-system begins to act not as a "superstructure" on the economic "basis", but as an entity equivalent to it.
Taking into account the abovementioned, it is possible to outline the sources that are associated with the existence of modern urbanism within the framework of socio-formative development.
In the traditional industrial city of the twentieth century, the living space was "ego-economic". The needs of urban fabric were created by transport networks, residential quarters with an appropriate infrastructure. Entrepreneurship was a key factor of individual development.
Growth in the service sector has changed transportation priorities, places of urban agglomerations, living space requirements.
Therefore, for the study of modern urban concept, it is important to structure the research that studies the adaptation and transformation of old structures after the loss of their main economic and administrative-managerial role as well as individual experimental objects that make people accumulate in one place for a long time and spontaneously form a proto-urban settlement.
Key words: post-industrial epoch of XXI century, evolution of urban science, communicative technologies, modern society.
