DURATION OF ELEMENTARY EVENTS IN THE STRUCTURE OF NOISE OF ROAD MOTION OF THE GREAT CITY
Of all the types of negative impact on the environment during the operation of the transport complex, in terms of environmental damage, more than 35% is noise. About 50% of this damage is associated with the operation of road transport (more than 80% of the urban population lives in conditions of excessive noise load caused by the movement of road traffic). Noise leads to fatigue of people, decrease in their working capacity and (with prolonged exposure) is the cause of pathological changes in the organs of hearing, disturbances in the normal functioning of all systems of the human body.
The issues of assessment and prediction of the impact of traffic on the acoustic environment, the development on their basis of rational measures to reduce this impact are extremely important.
In this paper, we analyzed the latest studies of state and foreign scientists on noise pollution, the impact of elevated noise levels on human health and ways to combat noise pollution in urban areas.
For field studies, one of the central streets of the city of Kharkiv was chosen, which passes through residential buildings. Measurements of noise levels were carried out in accordance with the method described in regulatory documents at a distance of 7.5 meters from the axis of the nearest lane of the roadway. As shown by the calculated equivalent noise levels, permissible requirements are exceeded in the study area, which may adversely affect the state of the environment and the health of people living in this area.
To reduce the noise load, the author proposed to plant another strip of green space along the roadway.
