FINDING OF THE POSSIBILITY WAYS FOR IMPROVING THE METHODOLOGY OF CALCULATING THE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX

The concept of human development index (HDI), methods for its calculation and the main indicators included in this index are discussed in the article. The basic calculation formulas of HDI are considered, that demonstrate the dependence of the socio-economic development of the country from the level of human development. The authors have found, that the main goal of the development is to create the conditions for people in which they could live a long and healthy life, get qualify education, have worthy material conditions. The compulsory component of such conditions is ecological one, which has a significant impact on the quality of human life. The article provides an analytical overview of the human development index for the European Union countries. The Human Development Index (Human Development Index) - a combined measure of the human development in the countries and regions of the world. Particular attention is paid to work as a contributing factor of the index of human development. As a result of reviews of the formal studies (Programme of the United Nations Development Report with the assessment of economic and social progress of the world, social statistics, the European Union, the United Nations reports, Human Development Report 2015 - Work in the name of the person) revealed positive accents contributing to the development in the countries EU "very high human development index." In addition the author summarized in a table: Human Development Index; Human Development Index adjusted for inequality; Gender Development Index; Gender Inequality Index; Multidimensional Poverty Index. favorable conditions formulated by the author (if possible) in the workplace; Tools supporting macroeconomic framework aimed at reducing volatility and creating secure jobs; active actions of the European Union in the field of "labor issues" directly affecting human development.
