At present, knowledge of strategic planning still exists only in large corporations, but the natural tendency is that small and medium-sized companies accept this idea as they become more massive, and each of them will look for a competitive advantage.
A business plan is a planning document prepared in accordance with the needs of each enterprise, capable of showing all the possibilities and competitive advantages of a business, starting with structural, administrative, strategic, marketing, technical, operational and financial.
Strategic planning consists of the development and analysis of future scenarios for a project with the subsequent identification of paths and objectives, the culmination of which is the identification of actions that allow to achieve such goals and objectives for the enterprise.
When building a business plan and strategic planning, every company, regardless of its size, can and should find its competitive advantage. For this, it is necessary that its managers, in addition to an entrepreneurial profile, have knowledge of the proposed management tools, which are strategic planning, as well as a business plan that includes this strategic planning. After analyzing various tools, the BSC (Balanced Scorecard) was chosen as a competitive differential because it is still little used in medium and small companies due to the complexity of implementation and control, given that it is the most used tool for managing large companies.
Thus, to achieve higher results, it is proposed to use a balanced scorecard to be able to maintain a continuous strategic management process.
The study discusses the use of a business plan and strategic planning using a balanced scorecard as a strategic tool for creating a competitive edge.
