METHOD OF DETERMINING GAS LOSSES AT COMPRESSOR STATIONS IN PURGE OF GAS PIPELINES
Abstract
Today, the issue of energy conservation, especially such a strategically important fuel as natural gas, remains topical. It is important to determine the loss of gas when starting and stopping the units at compressor stations, as well as gas costs when cleaning it. The paper presents a methodology for calculating gas losses at compressor stations and blowing gas pipeline sections for each specific case.
At present, it is necessary to apply a more acceptable methodology for calculating gas losses at compressor stations when starting and stopping the units, as well as in the oil tank and gas separator. A technique for their determination in three frequently encountered cases is proposed. It also proposes a methodology for determining the gas flow rate used to purge the gas pipeline section in order to clean it from clogging and expel air entering the gas pipeline during the repair work.
