Стаття присвячена огляду міжнародних спортивних змагань та вивченню особливостей формування та функціонування спортивних споруд в Україні. Визначено понятійний апарат дослідження. Проведено аналіз вітчизняного досвіду формування спортивних будівель в міському середовищі. Виявлено напрямки вдосконалення спортивних споруд та комплексів в структурі міського середовища.
